What should I know about compressors and air tools for auto body painting?
I want to do work in my driveway. Is there any special hookup I'll need for the compressor like a 220 line? or can I go with less HP and just plug it into a regular socket? What air tools do I need? A buffer and sander are different tools right?
Would auto body paint be a good coating for a stripper pole?
I want a stripper pole of my very own, but I am kinda tight on money. Could I take a aluminum, or steel conduit pipe to an auto body shop and have it painted so it was nice and smooth like the expensive stripper poles? About how much do you think it would cost?

Auto body prep for paint question?
My son has a 71 Super Beetle that we've done some rudimentary body work to and are going to have it repainted. I've decided to prep it myself and then take it to Maaco to have the paint shot. I know that some don't like Maaco but I had an antique truck painted there a few years back and it turned out terrific. My question is do you think I should shoot the whole car with primer I've done that on the spots I repaired or just scuff it up?
How would a car auto body shop repair a bad medium sized paint job?
so yesterday i applied touch up paint to some scratches on my silver scion tc. since some spots were messy and globby i wanted to remove the touch up paint so i could reapply it. well today i bough dupli color paint stripper at a store and put some on a spot on the front bumper. well it totally took off the touch up paint and the original car paint so now theres this medium sized black spot on the front bumper with no paint. now on monday im gona take the car to an auto shop and have them fix the spot along with some other stuff. how exactly would they fix the black spot? what would they do and how much would it cost?how much would it cost to fix the black spot on the fron bumper?

ive been working on my dodge for ever im doing the replacement panels by myself to save money and now i wish i hadent started it but anyway my ? is can someone please tell me a good web site were i can find my primer and paint and the clear coat maybe all together in a package or something that would be grate maybe something good but not real real expensive im running out of money thanks
How to learn about painting cars/auto body work?
Ok, I've been interested in getting into painting cars and doing auto body work, possibly as a future vocation. How do I get into this? Are there schools or classes I can take? Do I try to find a job somewhere where I can learn? I'm pretty clueless. Some advice would be great, especially if you have experience with this kind of thing.
